Hallo! I am 15 and I am almost dating a 16 year old chinese boy. He came to canada a couple months ago (at the beginning of the school year). His english is really good for the short amount of time he has been here, but because of the language barrier I am in a situation where I don’t know if he asked my friend out or not. So this is whats happened so far; he left a paper origami heart on my locker at school with his name on it. we text allot, at first he started the texting but now I find I am. We don’t talk in person very often because we only have one class together. We just mainly say hi and bye in the halls. He smokes and I’m against smoking (I’ve never said it though). We went to a movie with 3 of his friends and 1 of mine, we sat together (the movie was ghost rider 2, not romantic or a good movie to see with them), and after he hugged me at the bus stop. the next day he asked if i wanted to go out but i was cleaning the house so i couldn’t, so my friend and i where going to meet him at the mall today, but he had 3 friends we didn’t know so we just said hi and then we bumped into him later and said bye. At some point between friday and tuesday he asked my friend “want going out”, which we don’t know if he meant hang out or date. So I am sad about that because I really like him. I have been the one to suggest the movie and mall outings, so I don’t know if he is still interested in me.Please help me with seeing if he still likes me or not!
Auch, could you brief me on chinese dating etiquette? Like I want him to be the man and suggest and chose stuff (obviously I’d have a say, but just I have been doing everything so far, except he did hug me on friday), but what is the norm for chinese dating?
Auch, if all goes well, and we are dating happily by the end of the school year, he is going back to china for the summer, then coming back to canada for the school year, would it be weird if I got us couple rings, to sort of keep us together, even across oceans? Which finger would you wear it on, pinky finger? And could you send a link to a picture of what an appropriate 15-16 year olds’ couple rings would look like? or couple necklaces?

Hmm , perhaps ask him if he likes your friend and maybe show and interest in his culture like ask him is dating the same as canada , or you can google it ? take an interest in chinese food ? maybe he doesn’t want to keep his chinese tradition , instead maybe he wants to take on the canadian way ?
You never know if you don’t ask him , maybe sent a hint that you like him . I’m asian ,, not chinese , but filopino and I know they are quite consertive , but maybe he is different , I never kept to my filopino tradtion. I hope it all works out for you , I’d give him the ring , but not right away in the relationship .

Teil 1: Wish of Luck
Wens-day Evening, the classroom is filled with noise stains of paint and plaster cover the walls around and origami airplanes that were crafted last cascade around the room Tuesday Olive sitting at her desk rays of light dance on her books the bell rings she gets up then stares blankly at her red and white Tennis-shoes and Looks towards her best-friend Nina “Nina I have to go home so I can finish up the rest of this school work my bike is becoming rusty so I will borrow yours okay”? Nina’s attention remains centered somewhere else
and Olive storms off into the outskirts of the school “hmm she forgot to lock up her bike” as she gets on Nina’s bike Olive catches her as she looks out the window and widens her grey eyes as Olive takes off. The sky light, air thick as she rides she hears chattering of couples, kids everything so pierce then she feels a heavy sense of pressure as she rides the back down the Hill revealing the deep ocean anemone that almost look as if they are below her feet, the pressure increases and she hears silence everything around her is put to a halt she feels and see’s blurriness and silence.
Olive wakes up sweat on the side of her cheek turns towards the bedroom door she scurries out of the bedroom door and Glances around, “Nina” she says in a worried voice “we made it were home safe” no one answers everything remains still then suddenly Olive hears a noise towards the front door she runs with an unconditional feeling of happiness…only tennis shoes remained newly clean polished red-white tennis shoes, As Olive picked them up they began to move and pointed towards the front door’s knob then she hears “Go on turn it Olive turn it” she grabs the knob gently and turns it. There were was nothing, no laughs, screams of children, no tears or lover’s walking down the street.
She closes her eyes they start to become glossy
The background turns into a shady color of gold, Origami Airplanes fly high in the sky at the same time rain begins to drizzle from the gold sky and before Olive knows it the whole ocean is below her feet, the red-white tennis Shoes are on her feet then she feels, Thick air, no moisture barely any oxygen then she sees Nina’s human reflection “ah…Nina what is happening right now, did you do something?” Nina remains silent then takes a breath and scurries away.
Olive eyes begin to tear they slowly drizzle down her childlike face “Nina don’t you leave me here friends don’t leave other!” Olive suddenly she feels a presence from far away she sees silhouette figures then she sees a anticipation she runs towards her and then she see’s home, her town and everything so clear glossy she reaches towards all the things she sees with anticipation she runs so fast that her heart seems to be skipping faster than her, she opens her eyes!
Teil 2: Olive
Olive feels a sting of pressure of her face, she realizes that it’s mushed up against a window almost like a car window her head aches she tries to look around and catches a glimpse of Nina’s now destroyed bike and see’s that one of her red-white tennis shoes have found its way near Nina’s bike she hears peoples voices and then she moves her left eye over and hears her phone.
“Olive, you took my bike forgot, I to tell you that the breaks are damaged so I decided leave it unlocked I tried to run after you when I saw you out the window but I couldn’t make it, Hope you’re okay and figured it out I’m still looking for you call me back when you receive this message!
Everything Turns Pastel White as the phone receiver message “Klicks” off.
